Seu Jorge: The Life Aquatic Soundtrack

Rebel Rebel - Seu Jorge Have you ever seen The Life Aquatic? I don't wanna say it's a really GOOD movie but it's a movie that i personally like a lot. Bill Murry plays a bit of an egomaniacal Jacques Cousteau; Owen Wilson is in it. It's a fun flick. But part of what makes it so touching and good is the music. It's a mix between poppy organic feeling techno and Seu George.

The poppy techno is fun and they use it as transitional music but Seu Jorge and his acoustic guitar really set the scenes in this movie. I never realized that the actor playing the acoustic guitar is actually Seu Jorge untill i read the wikipedia page. I have always been a fan of Brazilian music but this just puts me over the edge. The way he touches the guitar makes me want to caress those sounds out of my own beloved axe.

But the funniest part is that all of the songs he plays in the movie are David Bowie songs he is singing in Portuguese. I've never listened to Bowie like, i thought the songs were original, but some how the fact they are Bowie songs make s me like this silly little movie and it's incredible soundtrack even more.
