To my MCs/Singers/Poets/Artists...
Ima keep this jawn short cuz I just want to hear your responses.
Right now I'm listening to the new Stat Quo Checks and Balances mixtape and the track I have on repeat is his version of Kanye's Say You Will with fellow ATLien Bobby Creekwater.
Straight up, Bobby Creekwater's verse had me on pause when I heard it.
It was inspiring, and this is my main goal in making music.
I also had to think: I haven't heard ANYTHING like this in a while.
Something that made me WANT to pick up the pen and scribe the illest thing I ever wrote.
So I ask you Fly.Paper neighbors, when is the last time you heard some song, saw some movie, read a quote digested some work of art that made you wanna get off your ass and bear your soul?

i was listening to roy ayers - He's A Superstar, today and caught the samepl from 3 Slim Dynamite by the Digable Planets. Me and Geno were talkin about crate digging earlier today. I have been finding some jewels in Roy's discs.
I have also been in a big Led Zeppelin phase for a while.

Me personally, I've been listening to some Tom Waits, a little Bjork, I listened to Bitches Brew the other day but the music that makes me want to write! it's gotta be Blackened Blues! My own music puts me in a state of mind where I gotta one up myself, do better, and write something sicker. I want my first album to be Illmatic meets southernplaylistic meets can I borrow a dollar. but refined to my own digestible standard in flow and execution. So here I am, up late writing rhymes.
